BioTe Pellet Q & A
What is BioTE® pellet hormone replacement therapy?
Hormone replacement therapy is a way to balance hormones that have become unregulated as a result of menopause or other health issues. BioTE bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) uses plant-based hormones in the form of tiny pellets to help balance your hormones as naturally as possible.
BioTE pellets are about the size of a grain of rice, and your practitioner implants the pellet just below the surface of your skin, so you don’t even know it’s there.
The pellet delivers the type of hormones you need to feel balanced throughout your day instead of feeling the inconsistency of too many ups and downs. BioTE hormones are a safe treatment that addresses the unpleasant side effects that come with menopause and the natural aging process.
What are the benefits of BioTE pellets for hormone replacement therapy?
In addition to being plant-based rather than synthetically manufactured hormones, BioTE pellets offer a variety of health benefits for women suffering from hormonal imbalances associated with menopause or chronic health problems such as thyroid disorders. These benefits include relief from the common symptoms of:
- Adrenal fatigue
- Depression
- Weight gain
- Low libido
- Brain fog or difficulty concentrating
- Night sweats and hot flashes
- Metabolic problems
Because BioTE hormone pellets are similar to the hormones that your body produces, they come with minimal risks of adverse side effects, too. And, since the BioTE pellet stays in your body, it consistently provides the dose of hormones your body needs to stay in balance. You won’t need to remember to take daily medication to regulate your hormones.
If your practitioner at Advanced Women’s Health Specialists thinks BioTE pellet therapy is right for you, they customize your treatment, so you enjoy optimal results.
What can I expect during the BioTE pellet insertion process?
The pellet insertion is a quick and painless, in-office procedure. Most women receive the pellet in their upper buttock. After numbing the area, your practitioner makes a tiny incision and inserts the BioTE pellet just under the surface of your skin.
Your practitioner puts a bandage over the incision, and the pellet slowly dissolves and delivers necessary hormones into your bloodstream. It may take a couple weeks or so until you feel the positive effects of the BHRT within your body, and you may only need 2-4 pellet insertions each year.
